Voices from Heart & Home, 1856 | An Offering of Love from Many VoicesEarly to mid Victorian books with blindstamped & gilded cloth covers are my favorite books to collect, especially at this petite palm size. This volume contains numerous sentimental verses on the subject of friendship & family; several of these are mourning poems about the loss of loved ones. In addition to the frontispiece, there are 3 hand colored illustrations. Condition is very good with just some minor edgewear.

This early Victorian mourning book was written in memory of a little boy who died at age 7

before being framed and hung as a memorial

Lots of wear to the covers and age tanning to the paper

ribbons with sentimental mottos like “We Mourn Our Loss

measures about 22” long
