The flowers of the month for December are Holly and Narcissus. I chose to paint Holly in watercolor on cyanotype and the Narcissus in abstract watercolor. Holly has a multitude of meanings however my favorite are courage, foresight and protection defense. Hollys leaves are strong, and despite harsh seasons it blooms beautiful

Inspiration: For months

The flowers of the month for May are the Lily of the Valley and the Hawthorne

and yet this process is what gives this piece it’s depth

printed on a large format transparency that creates a cyanotype in the sun

and in that glow

but we also know the opposite to be equally true

the sun is at its lowest point

prayerfully and mindfully painted to create the final artwork

unable to see the path forward—until a shift in perspective reveals the way

as if there is a central reason the threads exist
